Northern Grampians Police members undertook Operation Ring-Ring in August with the traffic operation focusing on mobile phone use by drivers as well as illegal U-turns in the Ararat CBD.
On August 25, the seven-day operation began, with several penalty infringement notices issued.
Acting Senior Sergeant Eddie Malpas confirmed seven penalty infringement notices were issued in relation to a number of offences, including three drivers who were observed using their mobile phones whilst driving.
He also confirmed one driver was intercepted during the day who returned a positive breath test, resulting in their vehicle being impounded for 30 days and their licence being immediately suspended.
"This is great work by our members who have listened to the feedback from the Northern Grampians Police Community Safety Survey, where members of the community raised concern about driver behaviour in the Ararat CBD," he said.
