The first Holden to be made in Australia, a prototype for the country’s first mass-produced car the 48-215 or Humpy, sold for $668,750 in October 2013. The car was formerly owned by West Australian property developer Peter Briggs, who bought it for about $15,000 in 1980. It is Holden’s prototype No. 4, the first of two made in Melbourne in 1947 before official production started at the Fishermens Bend plant.
