Men's Shed Week runs from August 30 - September 5 and in the true spirit of Men's Sheds, members are finding ways to overcome the obstacles.

Pomonal Men's Shed secretary Russ Kellett said he and others with the group are doing their best to connect with others, while the men's shed is shut due to lockdowns.

"It has been absolutely frustrating and we are just trying to keep in touch with phone and emails to try and meet the mental health needs of our members," he said.

"We are in the process of getting our shed up and running and so these lockdowns are not helping us.

"It is hard at the moment not being able to meet at the shed.

"Basically the main role of the men's shed, as I see it, is for the social and mental health needs of men.

"The most important part of the days at the men's shed are when we sit down with a cuppa and a nice biscuit and solve the problems of the world and it is through that banter and comradery that we meet the needs of our community."
