The 23rd annual Target/Uniting Care Giving Box has been hailed as a major success with several hundred gifts and gift cards being donated for those in need to have a happy 2015. The Giving Box, which was located at the entrance of Target Dubbo, was bursting full of gifts when the team from the Dubbo Uniting Church arrived to collect it and pass the gifts on to local agencies for their clients. While children are the main focus of the Giving Box, items for people of all ages were included and gift cards proved to be a very popular option in 2014. The cards were either then used to purchase items for needy families, or given directly to them. Local appeal co-ordinator Jacqui Tooth reported that the generous donations of presents and gift cards from both locals and NSW corporations enabled the needy in the community to feel that they weren't forgotten during the festive period. "With the help of our always willing church volunteers, Target manager Cherie Fuller and her helpful staff, this year's appeal showed that our Dubbo community always has the spirit of giving," Ms Tooth said. "Uniting Care is one of Australia's largest provider of community services."
