Parts of Stawell will have their power supply affected on Monday June 7, with a wide range of bushfire mitigation works taking place in the area.

A Powercor spokesperson said the company were in the process of installing a Rapid Earth Fault Current Limiter device at the Stawell Zone Substation.
As part of the works the surrounding network must be strengthened before it can become operational.
Residents who will be affected by the outage should have received an SMS communication about the details of the outage in their area.
"Next week, crews will be replacing surge diverters on the network, an important safety feature that protects nearby transformers and underground cabling from any sudden surge of electricity," the spokesperson said.

"Power needs to be interrupted for about 90 minutes so this work can be conducted safely. We thank customers for their patience as we complete these critical works.
"There is never a convenient time to have a power outage and we understand that even with restrictions relaxed, people are still relying on power for working and studying from home.

"As an essential service provider, we are continuing to operate during this period and this includes conducting critical works, such as the rollout of our REFCL program."
In April, Powercor announced a range of upgrades to the region's power infrastructure, including the Rapid Earth Fault Current Limiter.
This device will act as giant safety switch, reducing voltage levels within milliseconds to mitigate the risk of fire if a tree strikes powerlines or lines hit the ground.
