Navarre are looking to regroup and hit the ground running as soon as they are able to return to the field, with their junior sides hoping to lead the way this weekend.
Navarre football club vice-president Barry Fletcher said the strength of the junior numbers involved at the club is pleasing moving into the future.
"Like all clubs I'm sure, we were so disappointed to have to pause the season, just when we felt some sort of normality returning after last year, particularly for our juniors across both football and netball," he said.
"It's been fantastic for everyone to get back into competition obviously, but I think the juniors in particular really missed out last year.

"What's been really pleasing through is that we've been able to get good junior numbers back involved.
"We've struggled a little with numbers at under-17 football level, but that seems to be a bit of a trend right across the region."
Mr Fletcher said that league advice received late Wednesday afternoon indicated that round eight junior matches would go ahead as planned, with Navarre set to host Talbot.
"Obviously a lot needs to happen before Saturday to get a game up and going, particularly given we won't have been able to train on Thursday night," he said.
OTHER NEWS:
"It appears that there will be a number of extra requirements and constraints that we'll be faced with, on top of what we were already dealing with. It does make it hard for clubs, which are all volunteer run."
Mr Fletcher said because the club has so many junior teams, it makes it worthwhile to get games going ahead.
"We have seven junior teams across the club as compared to five senior teams, so it's certainly worth pushing ahead even without the senior grades," he said.
"We'll just wait for further advice like everyone else to see when we can get a full compliment of teams back out playing."
