The announcement comes after the Victorian government extended the Victorian circuit-breaker lockdown, but eased some restrictions for regional Victoria.
Those eased restrictions included junior competitions could forget ahead.
On Thursday, AFL Wimmera-Mallee manager James Muldoon told the Stawell Times-News HDFNL had decided not to play a junior competition at the weekend as well.
On Thursday afternoon the WFNL was still yet to reach a conclusion on their juniors, but met at 4pm that evening.
WFNL cited the short timelines, capacity limits, and information still pending from stakeholders as to how they reached their decision.
An update will follow on Friday.
