The club was treated to a riveting guest speaking experience, with local watchmaker John Allot and his friend Ross McGregor sharing their stories.
They entertained members with stories about their craft and demonstrated some of tiny precise tools and implements used to manufacture and repair watches and clocks - and other complex instruments.
Members were able to examine the instruments and ask questions about them.
Lion Carol Wilson revealed unexpected knowledge when she recognised a mechanical clock-work device used in the roasting of meat over an open fire.
