In the top of the table clash, the Warriors trailed by as much as five goals in the second quarter before they managed to turn the tide, just as they did against the Southern Mallee Giants in round four.
In a see-sawing final quarter the Warriors held on to win 12.8 (80) to 12.7 (79), putting them one game clear at the top of the WFNL senior football ladder.
But the stretch of tough games for the Warriors will continue with a trip to Minyip to face the reigning premiers penciled in for round six.
Minyip-Murtoa, who sit second on the ladder and have had just one loss so far in the 2021 season, looked formidable in round five.

Up against the Horsham Saints, Minyip-Murtoa were challenged and trailed at halftime, but they returned to their devastating best as they ran away winners 8.7 (55) to 18.17 (125).
Stawell Warriors football department co-manager Blair Hart said his side will look to take the game on against the reigning premiers on Saturday
"When you look at the last two games, it has been our first halves," he said.
"We are a young side, we are smaller with a lot of smaller bodies than the teams we are playing.
"We have got to find a way to neglect the oppositions strength and power.
"There's just little individual things we can improve on, but as a team we aren't going to change the way we are playing we are just going to keep trying to take the game on, pull the trigger and see how we go.
"Some days we know its not going to work, we know we are not going to win every week.

Stawell also scored an impressive win on the netball court, with the A Grade defeating Dimboola by 17 goals.
The Warriors raced to an eight goal quarter time lead and proved too good for Dimboola as they extended their lead throughout the game.
The win boosts the Warriors to fifth on the ladder with a big opportunity on offer in round six.
Minyip-Murtoa, the reigning A Grade premiers, are yet to win a game in 2021 and will be out to snap the losing streak at home in round six.
A win for the Warriors would place them firmly in the top half of the WFNL ladder, while a loss would see them slip back into the chasing pack.
