North Stawell Minerals are looking forward to seeing the results of further drilling after initial returns from their northern Wildwood site were "highly encouraging".
North Stawell's chief executive Steven Tambanis said "the high grade gold intervals from Wildwood are highly encouraging and we look forward to receiving diamond core assays over the next month to update the 3D Wildwood model".
"Current drilling at Clontarf (northern Wildwood) is delivering significant visual intervals of mineralisation, more so than observed at southern Wildwood.
"Our first exploratory drill hole is underway to the north of Wildwood to test the first of 16 additional basalt dome targets on our tenure - an exciting first step into our regional drill programme."

North Stawell Minerals said they are undertaking one of the largest drilling programs of any ASX-listed junior and confirmed shallow, high-grade gold from the recent drilling at its Wildwood prospect.
Top hits returned were 12m at 9.49g/t gold from 34m, including 1m at 46.9g/t, and 5m at 7.5g/t from just 15m, including 1m at 16.25g/t.
Mr Tambanis said the Stawell Mineralised Corridor is one of the key areas for North Stawell Minerals to explore with an eye to future expansion.
"We regard the Stawell Mineralised Corridor to be one of Australia's most prospective and historic gold provinces and have a target rich environment to explore over the next two years with an experienced and enthusiastic team," he said.

"Many prospects are already demonstrated to be gold mineralised and we look forward to commencing regional target exploration once the bulk of our first Wildwood drilling is completed."
The findings come as their aero gravity survey targets the area to create a new, detailed gravity map.
Throughout April residents between Stawell and Murtoa may notice an aeroplane flying relatively low down as the minerals mining company surveys the area.
During daytime the plane will be travelling at 80 metres high over non-residential sites and 150 metres above towns and houses.
