After a "tough" 2020, Stawell's performing arts community are preparing for a big return to action with new committee members in place for 2021.

SPACi has announced the new committee will be formed with Ian Mitchell taking on the role of president and Greg Little as the secretary/treasurer.
The club also thanked outgoing committee members Dianne Stewart and Tracey Erkelens, who have been president and secretary stalwarts "and have supported the diverse range of activities SPACi members have grown to love".
"In 2020 performing artists had a tough time, the COVID-19 pandemic locking down entertainment venues and cancelling performances," the club said.

"There were times when it looked like SPACi might have been a casualty of COVID-19, but persistence rules and positivity for the coming years is high.
"This hasn't stopped the Stawell Performing Arts Company Inc. from having an ambitious plan for 2021 and is calling on anyone and everybody who has any interest in performing to please get in touch."
With restrictions eased around the state, SPACi said they are have already started to run some performances.
In 2020, the 'Take the Stage' open mic nights were held over Zoom, but the Stawell Golf Club becoming is set to become its new home with the hope these will be live performances, open for anyone who wants to show their talent.

SPACi are also working with the Stawell Golf Club to grow performance and entertainment options at the venue with plenty of ideas in the pipeline.
SPACi's Ukelele and Come and Sing groups have also started, alongside their developmental Young Ones and Little Ones programs.
A Young Ones theatre performance and an open day on the Grand Piano is scheduled for the Stawell Entertainment Centre this year.
