"Take pride in the town you live in."
Judy McPhee and Karen Jenkins have turned their walking for exercise into walking to pick up rubbish on one of the major entryways into Stawell, Sloane Street.
Mrs McPhee said the roadsides between the highway and Cooper street in Sloane street and the bush block adjacent to Wildcat Hill had become people's rubbish disposal areas.
"It wasn't a good look especially with holidays approaching and visitors coming to our town," she said.

"I couldn't believe the amount of rubbish we were able to pick up in such a small area in such a short time.
"I would just like people to feel proud of their town and please take their rubbish home to dispose of."
Mrs McPhee shared her message on social media with the hope of bringing the issue to light.
"Today there has been a significantly smaller amount of rubbish," Mrs McPhee said on Wednesday.
"Hopefully people are starting to listen. I know there are other areas in the town that are probably worse than here. We are just doing our little bit to help."
