The Warriors entered the game off the back of their second bye of the season, looking to gather momentum in a push for finals.
A heavy wind favoured the home side early in the contest, but Stawell was able to hold firm and end the quarter with scores level.
"It was a fairly strong breeze, worth about four or five goals," Stawell coach Damian Joiner said.
"We defended really well against it and played some very smart footy.
"We lapsed late in the quarter and let them get a couple of late ones to draw the score level. Nick Peters and Ryan McKenzie really lifted them."
The play was all one way after the first break however, with the Warriors piling on eight goals in the second term. The Eagles could not manage to score another major after quarter-time, losing 17.12 (114) to 3.11 (29).
"Our defensive pressure was great and we set up really well behind the ball," Joiner said.
"We won ball the majority of the time from the middle and played smart, not just relying on the wind.
"I think that is an indication of how we are maturing as a team. There is a lot more leadership across the boar in the side, it isn't all just on me or Cam (Kimber) anymore."
Tom Taurau continued his strong run of form, kicking four goals as he roved across the ground.
"Tom's first half was some of the best football I have seen," Joiner said.
"He is running through the ruck at the moment which he has really embraced."
Joiner was also full of praise for his side's defenders.
"Our half back in Jack Walker, Jack Dark and Jack Taurau all did a great job," he said.
"Naish (McRoberts) was also big with clearances from the midfield and Cody Driscoll was handy up forward again with five goals."

Every one of the six games remaining for the year are crucial for the Warriors, who sit in third spot level on points with the Giants and just one win ahead of both Horsham and Horsham Saints.
The Warriors gained a crucial 13 per cent following the big win.
"The percentage is important but we know we just need to keep winning games," Joiner said.
"It is close in the lead up to finals but we are confident in what we do when our game is going."
Stawell plays Horsham at home next weekend.
