The St Andrews side would have been confident in the games first innings during the Grampians Cricket round 14 clash on Saturday, February 10.
Opening batter, Ryan Skiller fell only two runs short of his century after facing 103 balls.
Combinations proved elusive for Skiller as his first three batting partners each fell for less than three runs.
The partnership drought broke when James Hosking came to the crease, together Skiller and Hosking scored 130 runs.
Swifts Great Western passed the 187 run target set by St Andrews with five wickets in-hand and 11 over left in the innings.
Pomonal's Corey Taylor ripped through Halls Gap 1's top order, claiming a five-wicket-haul has his side barrelled towards a five wicket win.

An 85-run partnership for Pomonal's second wicket helped Lynden Brewis and Taylor to scores of 47 and 79 respectively, and almost assured the victory for the home side.
A pair of middle order ducks may have kept Pomonal's nerves up, but captain, Matt Peel, steadied the ship and guided his side to victory.
Both Rhymney Moyston sides met in round 14 to face one another, but the club's first XI gave their fellow clubman nothing.
