The Regional Health Infrastructure Fund will see more than $1,500,000 invested into the region's health services to upgrade old health infrastructure.

Stawell Regional Health will receive a grant of around $1 million to replace theatre equipment, as well as $450,000 to consolidate and upgrade the fire detection system across four separate locations.

Grampians Community Health will receive $30,000 to improve COVID-safe infection control for staff and clients at the Stawell Health and Community Centre.

The group will also receive $26,000 for minor upgrade works on existing balconies at the Stawell Health and Community Centre building.

Member for Western Victoria Jaala Pulford said the funding provided vital equipment upgrades for the region.

"Everyone deserves access to quality health care facilities and services - we are ensuring the West Wimmera Shire community has exactly that close to home," she said.

"We are delivering better health outcomes for West Wimmera Shire communities with modern services and facilities while creating local jobs."
