Ian Charles was living in St Kilda, working as a sport photographer, but in 2019 he decided to change his lifestyle and head west to Stawell.
He says his move to Stawell has become "the best move I have made in life" and he has further embraced his new community with the opening of his new gallery store 27 Photography.
"I came up on holiday a few years ago and found that Stawell has everything that you need," he said.
"I was looking for a change, because I was living in St Kilda, so I was looking for something a bit quieter and in and 2019 I moved up to Stawell.
"I love Stawell, it is super friendly.

"It is so close to the Grampians, but with all the conveniences of a town that you need."
Mr Charles said he has a wide range of photography skills, but he loves taking photos of the Grampians in all their beauty the most.
"I am pretty varied and easy going and I have taken pictures to family portraits to the Stawell burnouts at the motorsports complex," he said.
"I love going out into the Grampians and taking photos, that is the other reason I moved here.
"It is just one of my favourite places in Australia. You can take a picture of a waterfall or beautiful wildflowers, it is just such a photogenic place."
OTHER NEWS:
After settling in the town, Mr Charles opened the 27 Photography store in Main Street, which operates as a point of call for his new business.
"I was taking alright landscape photographs so I thought opening a store in Stawell, where I live now, would be a good idea," he said.
"It is something that is not around town.
"I was selling some of my landscape work down in Melbourne, but it works better for this to have a store and a shop front."
"We started off slow but things are picking up. People come in and ask for odd jobs that they want done and I am happy to do that.
"I also get all my framing and printing done down in Great Western, with Jenrick House, so I try to keep it as local as I can."
