Before the race, pupils were treated to a history lesson at the Stawell Gift Hall of Fame.
The pupils donned their coloured vests and competed in heats - with the winners of each facing off in a final sprint.
Tyler Carver came first place in the boys sprint, with Joseph Clarke placing second. In the girls race Cordie Crawford took out gold, with Alexis MacDonald runner-up.

Teacher Michaela Armer said the tradition was a very special occasion for the school.
"Students were nervous before running their heats. We then ran our final, all the students and parents cheered and the atmosphere was just fantastic," she said.
"Cordie and Tyler were our winners with Alexis and Joseph runner up. All students ran their little hearts out, and Jackie and I were so proud of everyone's participation.
"We would love to thank the Commonwealth Bank and Stawell Athletic Club for all their help in organising the event with us and donating some generous goodies for winners."
