The final games were played on Sunday 19th April, which were generously hosted by Hamilton.
Stawell Pioneers Women's team proudly consisted of ladies ranging from in their 40's down to some as young as 10 who normally play in the junior teams. This has been an excellent learning experience and opportunity for all involved.
In the first game last Sunday, Stawell Pioneers played against Warrnambool Rangers and claimed their first win for the day with the final score being 3-2. Stawell's goal scorers for this game were Poppy Kingan, Annie Smethurst and Rhianne Guerrero.
Playing alongside these ladies were Danikah Harman, Morgan Difalco, Alicia Walter, Barb Venn, Darcy Venn and Karen Armstrong.
Two of Stawell's players, Indigo and Matilda Venn, stepped up to play for Portland Panthers who were short players on the day.
This made for an exciting and competitive second game for the day where Stawell drew 0-0 with Portland Panthers.

Overall, it was a successful day. After the games, there was a brief ceremony to celebrate the end of the tournament. It was with great excitement to see many of our ladies from Stawell having votes towards Best and Fairest, with Morgan Difalco scoring the most points overall and taking home the trophy.
Stawell Pioneers have come a long way as a club in just a few short years.
Now having offered a diverse range of options to participate, including Soccer Mums, Women's League, Seniors (open), U14's mixed, U12's mixed and Mini Roos.
The Pioneers headed to Naracoorte at the weekend for a friendly against the Naracoorte team.
The season will officially kick off with games starting on May 2 for Seniors, U14's and U12's.
