A man who was almost four times over the legal blood alcohol limit was busted driving on the wrong side of the Western Freeway over the Easter weekend.

Police say the Stawell man was caught on Sunday night travelling on the wrong side of the road near Wallace about 8.15pm.
There were a number of calls to police from the public about the white Holden SUV driving in the wrong lanes.

The 30-year-old male driver was arrested and returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.182 per cent.
He had his licence immediately suspended for a period of 12 months and his vehicle impounded for a month at a cost of $1425.
The man was interviewed in relation to the alleged incident and enquiries are ongoing.
