Stawell's Neighbourhood House is encouraging residents to attend this year's International Women's Day celebration with a series of inspirational guest speakers as the highlight.
State Member for Ripon Louise Staley, Northern Grampians Shire Council councillor Lauren Dempsey and respected Stawell nurse Rosalind Byass are among guest speakers for the night.
Ms Staley will share her story about representing the people of Ripon, while Cr Dempsey will tell guests about her work as a mental health advocate and her journey in this field.
Ms Byass moved to Stawell in 1978 and has a lifetime of stories to tell about her experiences as mother, nurse and community activist.
International Women's Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women and will be marked in Stawell with this year's event.
The dinner will take place at the Stawell Entertainment Centre from 6:30pm to 10pm on Friday March 12, with tickets still available.
The evening will raise awareness about women's equality, lobby for accelerated gender parity and to fundraise for female-focused charities.
