On Friday, the council announced the pedestrian upgrade project's start time has been delayed by almost a week and will start on Friday, February 19, compared to the intended start date of Monday, February 15.
The project was expected to be completed by Friday, March 12, but is now expected to completed a week later by Friday, March 19.
Late last year, planned work to the Stoney Creek bridge was also delayed because parts needed to be replaced and a stronger design was required.

The upgrades to the bridge are one of the last remaining pieces to of the Halls Gap Action Plan redevelopment which was almost completed last year.
Nearby businesses will be visited by the project manager in the coming days to discuss the details of the project.
Due to the nature of the works, the bridge will be closed and a temporary pedestrian crossing on Halls Gap Road at either end of the traffic bridge will be opened.
Some parking bays on the North side of the bridge will be unavailable for public use as they will temporarily be used to give contractors and workers the space to store materials.
Traffic management and public safety measures will be in place for the duration of the works, with the council planning to complete the works before the Easter tourist period.
