The Great Western Hall Makers Market returned for the first time in a year yesterday, with stallholders and shoppers excited to return.

Before COVID-19 the market would run every three months; it provides an outlet for artisans and growers from the Grampians regions to sell their products.
Market organiser Christine Collings said the market's return was excellently received.

"It was quite a steady day," she said.
"We had quite a few people through. Everybody was eager to get back and happy to be there. It was like a new market with everyone having been away for so long."
The market is not fully back to normal. As it is held indoors, COVID-19 restrictions are still quite limiting.
Ms Collings said this meant there were less stallholders than previous markets.
"We had 18 stalls," Ms Collings said.
"We usually have around 31 but because of COVID and social distancing we cut it back to nearly half."
But Ms Collings said the sellers who did attend were delighted to be back in the Great Western Hall once more.
"All our stall-holders were very happy with it," she said.
"They were all itching to get back and were all talking about seeing us at the next market in May."
The next market will be held on Sunday, May 2.
