In the last round before Christmas, Chally were back at home and would have been confident of getting a win over the visiting Lake Bolac combination but were handed a big loss to think about over the break.

Chally's Chris Young went down in a low scoring match against Phil Murray, Shane Todd got some points for chally, but it was the Ian Park rink that caused most of the damage winning 39 to 12 over a shell shocked Richard Harricks led team.
Ararat VRI and Stawell Golf had the close match of the round.
Shane Briggs and Mark Griffits both had good wins for VRI but they could not cover the big win by Greg Reading had over Clayton Holcombe by 22 shots.
The win allowed Golf to get home by just two shots.
Aradale at home are a tough side to come up against and it was Stawell's turn to make the trip to the Aradale venue.
Grant Seeary got the visitors of to a great start to win by 17.
OTHER NEWS:
Gary Sherwell had a hard fought win over Andrew Cray by seven shots while the dream team skippered by Nugget Oehm with Gary Jamieson playing third could only manage a two shot win over Andrew Sharp's team.
In the last game Ararat were too strong for the bottom placed Landsborough.
Richard Fisher, Mick McGuire and Kieran Gellie all had big wins to put a big gap between themselves and the Borough boys on the ladder.
In this week's line up Chally, who will still be hurting from their big loss, will be at home against Ararat.
Chally should prove to be too strong if all their stars are available.
Lake Bolac have been improving each week are just outside the top four.
They play at home this week against Aradale which should be a top match with plenty to play for with the looser dropping out of the top four.
Landsborough will come up against the top side Stawell Golf and will need to improve on the last time the two teams met.
In the last match Stawell will be at home and will start favourites against last year's premiers VRI.
The ladder is as wide open as it has ever been with each match becoming more important as we move towards the finals.
DIVISION TWO
Before the mid-season break, Stawell Golf had a great win over VRI winning all three rinks and boosting their points on the ladder.
Peter Greenberger had the best win up by 12 shots.
Stawell snuck home by six shots at home over the visiting Aradale side in one games providing one of the lowest totals seen for a while Keith Mitchell lost to Brian Richards by one shot, 16-17.
Trevor Skurrie had a big win for Stawell to help secure the points.
In the last match Lake Bolac Red had a big win over Ararat with T Cornwell and R Grimmer both having good wins for Bolac.
Rex Start got some points for the visitors. Lake Bolac Black had the bye.

In this weekend's matches Aradale will be at home against the top side Lake Bolac Black in a match were the visitors should win but a loss would not surprise.
In what should be a great match and a possible finals matchup Stawell Golf, third on the ladder, will host second placed Lake Bolac Red in a match that could go either way.
In the last match Stawell will venture down to VRI and this is also a match that could go either way with a loss for Stawell could be costly and Ararat have this weeks bye.
The ladder sees the top four side Bolac red and black along with the two Stawell sides more than a match clear from the rest of the teams chasing, the final order is still up for grabs at this stage of the season.
