Passengers will once again receive the opportunity to take the train to Melbourne or Adelaide or visit the Wimmera from Melbourne or South Australia via rail.
The Overland made stops at Nhill, Dimboola, Horsham, Stawell, and Ararat during the Adelaide to Melbourne service on Sunday before the Melbourne to Adelaide service heads off on Monday, January 4.
For more than 130 The Overland has been bringing people between Adelaide and Melbourne and the regional towns in between.
After clouds hung over the future of the rail service, funding was secured from the Victorian Government which should see the service continue until December 2023.
