A Stawell property was searched on Friday after Victoria Police executed a search warrant.

The property, on Gilchrist Road, Stawell was found to be the location of a "sophisticated hydroponic cannabis setup".
Detective Senior Constable Mal Wineberg said it appeared the property was in the early stages of setting up the operation.
"A large amount of cannabis plants were seized," he said.
"We believe we disrupted their operation before any plants had reached maturity.

"No arrests have been made but we have numerous follow up inquiries to make."
Detective Wineberg said it was unknown if the incident was linked to other properties in Stawell which were found to be houses growing cannabis.
"We are trying to ascertain if that is the case," he said.
"We'd like to seek the assistance of the public if they have seen anybody in or around this address over the past six weeks."
