Nearly 15mm of rain fell in Stawell overnight, as the region was battered by wet and windy conditions.
BOM weather observations show from 5pm Wednesday to 7:30am Thursday, Stawell experience 14.4mm of rainfall.
Around 10mm fell in a two-hour period late on Wednesday night.
Gusts peaked at 54km/h around midnight.
Mount William, in the Grampians, copped more than 38mm in the same timeframe, with gusts peaking at 78 km/h.

Horsham experienced 29mm of rainfall, with around 15mm falling in a four-hour period late on Wednesday night.
Gusts peaked at 48km/h in the early hours of Thursday morning.
Weather observations were not available for Ararat.

Flash flooding could result from heavy rain predicted to fall across the Wimmera, Mallee and Grampians on Wednesday night and into Thursday.
Six hourly rainfall totals of 30-50mm are possible into the early hours of Thursday.
Damaging westerly winds averaging 50 to 60 km/h with peak gusts of 90 to 100 km/h, are expected to develop about the southwest coast and the Grampians during Thursday afternoon, extending to the central ranges (above 400m) and central coast during Thursday evening.
Winds across Alpine areas and the western parts of the State are expected to ease below warning threshold in the early hours of Friday morning, with damaging gusts persisting about the Bass Coast during Friday.
Locations which may be affected include Mildura, Horsham, Warrnambool, Bendigo, Shepparton, Seymour, Maryborough and Ballarat.
Sheep graziers have been warned that cooler temperatures, rain and showers are expected during Wednesday and Thursday, with northwesterly winds shifting westerly on Thursday.
Areas likely to be affected include the Wimmera and South West forecast districts and parts of the Mallee, Northern Country, North Central, North East, Central and West and South Gippsland forecast districts.
There is a risk of losses of lambs and sheep exposed to these conditions.
The next severe weather warning will be issued by 11.00 pm Wednesday.
