Stawell's playgrounds and parks was the place to be as restrictions ease

Stawell's Cato Lake and playground was a hive of activity as residents enjoyed getting out and about for the day.

Six-year-old Maya, a student at Stawell West Primary School, said she was excited to be outside and playing at the park.

"I'm looking forward to going back to school and doing Maths," she said.

"I like doing all kinds of Maths. I'm excited that I can now go to the park in the school holidays."

Mother of toddler Eadie, Minnie Green said it had been tough whilst restricted at home.

"We're lucky we live on a farm and have space to move around and can't complain too much," she said.

"But it's tough on the kids. They are used to having activities and things to do in different environments. It's hard to explain to them why the park is 'broken'.

"It's so nice to see the kids interact with other kids at the park. They've been at home and some by themselves for such a long time."
