A new piece of medical equipment to help measure children's oxygen levels has been donated to East Grampians Health Service.

By shining a light through a baby's finger or toe, the RAD-7 Pulse Oximeter measures the amount of oxygen in their capillaries to prevent damage to the brain, eyes and lungs.
East Grampians Health Service chief executive Andrew Freeman thanked the Humpty Dumpty Foundation and donor Little Rebel Coffee Roasters for the much-needed donation.
"Our health service has a strong commitment to improving paediatric health services and ensuring the health and wellbeing of everyone who uses its services," Mr Freeman said.

"We have a large number of paediatric patients present to our Urgent Care Centre and this equipment will help us improve the care of our youngest patients and ensure that our residents are not disadvantaged by living in a rural area.
"We are extremely grateful to the Humpty Dumpty Foundation and donor, Little Rebel Coffee Roasters for their generosity."

Humpty Dumpty Foundation executive chairman Paul Francis said hospitals and healthcare services need their help now more than ever.

The Humpty Dumpty Foundation purchases life-saving medical equipment specifically requested by 425 hospitals and health services across Australia. Each piece of medical equipment requested is stringently assessed by Humpty's medical sub-committee.
