The vehicle was travelling along the Western Highway on August 17 when police stopped the vehicle.
A police spokesperson said as a result of the intercept, the vehicle was searched and prescription medication was found.
"The 58-year-old driver of the vehicle was not authorised to have that particular medication, given that he had no prescription," they said.
"The male was charged with possessing a schedule 4 poison and released on summons."
