It hasn't stopped Stawell CWA members from still connecting with one another and even learning new skills around the home.

Secretary Alison Nicholson has been trying to keep the CWA community informed on social media by sharing a new skill.

"I thought putting my experience might spark some conversation and help grow the interest for those who are at home," she said.

"I was pretty proud of myself as well. With some help from my husband and YouTube, I figured out how to put on my new doorknobs.

"We haven't had meetings and there hasn't been a huge uptake in the idea of zoom meetings so we are trying to keep our members and the community engaged.

"I'm conscious like all organisations which are member-based we have gone quite.

"Hopefully we can drive some interest so when this is all over we can gain some more members."

With more than 90km separating the members, social media has become a novelty for some who don't get the opportunity to call in for a cuppa.

"We're physically distanced as well as the restrictions that are in place at the moment," Mrs Nicholson said.

"It's a matter of keeping the conversation going in the forefront of our minds.

"It's about learning new skills. Everyone is into craft - you only have to look at how busy the craft shop is at the moment.

"I thought it might be interesting to point out CWA isn't always about arts, crafts and baking."

Mrs Nicholson said CWA women are resourceful and learning new skills comes from living in regional areas.

"When I bought the doorknobs I thought to myself, I can do this," she said.

"It's about having a go and not being afraid to have a go within your limits."
