On Friday, Chief Health Officer Brett Sutton said he felt the state had passed its peak.
Though, the death toll still could be high for some time to come, Professor Sutton believed case numbers would fall as the effects of stage four lockdown and mask wearing begin to show in the statistics.
Yesterday, there were 372 new cases reported and 14 deaths,
Sadly, a man in his 20s was among the 14 Victorians who lost their lives to the virus on Friday.
More detail on today's figures is expected this afternoon.
IN OTHER NEWS:
No new COVID-19 cases were reported locally yesterday.
One active case remains in the Northern Grampians Shire.
There are three active cases in Horsham and two active cases in West Wimmera.
No active cases have been reported in Ararat, or the Hindmarsh and Yarriambiack shires.
