It took five years to collate all the information for the book.
"The most interesting part for me was the first chapter," Mr Cameron said.
"It was the very early development and the old diamond drills were really interesting."
Mr Cameron has published a previous book on the Stawell Gold Mine - fascinated by the industry in Stawell.
"I considered all the information would be lost and thrown away," he said.
"I thought I could do another book with more detail.
"I'm really happy with the end result."
Mr Cameron is an active member of the Stawell Historical Society and has an avid interest in mining across the region.
"Finding those little interesting facts and learning something I didn't know is what keeps me going," he said.
The books are available from Monday at the Stawell Historical Society.
