Games were forced to be called off due to a substantial amount of rain across the region on Friday night and Saturday morning.
The Bureau of Meteorology measured 26mm of rain until 9am on Saturday, with the same amount recorded in Ararat.
On social media, Stawell Times-News readers said they recorded over 30mm of rain across the region.
The decision to call the games off wasn't taken lightly but was made as early as possible on Saturday so players could make alternate arrangements with their weekend.
Association president David Turner said grounds weren't inspected on Saturday morning - the call for cancellation made after many forms of correspondence regarding the weather coming into the association.
"Due to the amount of rain which we already had and we could see more was coming we decided to make the decision early so players could still do something with their weekend," he said.
"The rain we could see coming made it easy to make the call early. It's very frustrating particularly for clubs who had extra things set up for the day, outside of just playing cricket."
Turner said calling off the round of cricket, still gives hope to those teams who weren't tipped to win.
"Particularly in B Grade, the season is still wide open
"There's not a huge margin and as it stands, the team in seventh could still have an opportunity to win the premiership if everything falls their way."
The 2019-20 Grampians Cricket season has come up against delays, from the very first round.
On the brink of the eve of round one, Aradale pulled it's A Grade team and the association was left to re-do the draw and delay the start of the season. In B Grade, Youth Club and Chalambar pulled its side after round five - due to lack of numbers to field both senior grades.
Cricket wasn't the only cancellation at the weekend with the annual Stawell Stingrays' swim meet cancelled on Saturday morning due to the weather conditions.
