More than 100 players lined up on the courts on Sunday.
Tournament coordinator Blair Hart said the number of participants had grown by about 40 players from last year's tournament.
"Someone said to me the last time one of the points tournaments cracked 100 was six years ago," he said.
"We had a lot of positive feedback from the day. Credit goes to all the helpers. It was fantastic to see so many players out there enjoying themselves.
"The most we have ever had at the Stawell points tournament was 145. To see that we could reach that number again is exciting."
Hart said there was about 80 per cent of the Stawell junior tennis players competing.
"A third of the players playing today are in the 10 and under age group," he said.
"I think the increase in numbers comes from the bottom up. As the players get older, the numbers drop off but across the board, we've got some really good numbers in junior tennis.
"There's been some really hard work put in from Tennis Australia to promote the sport over the past few years."
As Stawell's junior 2019-20 competition takes a mid-season break, Hart said he believed tennis was staying steady due to work done behind the scenes.
"We've got hot shots on Saturday morning as well as three grades of tennis," he said.
"We have over 100 kids here playing tennis each Saturday morning.
"Tennis has never really died for us. It's just taken that next step up again.
"We're so lucky to have a really strong committee and supporters who have come in and lead the club to a really great position."
