STAWELL Police arrested a 22-year-old male on Tuesday and was interviewed in relation to a caravan fire on O'Callaghan Street on Monday.
The male was charged with criminal damage by fire and bailed to face Stawell Magistrate's Court on January 14.
Sergeant Russell Brown, of Stawell said the man allegedly set on fire a caravan worth about $2000 in a backyard and left.
Earlier, Wednesday 10am:
COUNTRY Fire Authority were called to a fire in Stawell on Monday.
At about 3.30pm, emergency services were alerted to a fire in a backyard.
A CFA spokesperson said flames were visible when the brigade arrived.
"There were minor explosions which could possibly have been a gas cylinder," he said.
"There were no reports of injury."
Police attended the scene and were investigating the circumstances.
