STAWELL Secondary College's hairdressing course has finished for 2019.
The course offers students from across the region the opportunity to learn basic skills and knowledge of the hairdressing industry.
Hair and beauty educator Sonya Seehusen said the course had grown since it first started in 2017.
"We had one student graduate in our first year which has grown to five this year," she said.
"The students have also done some beauty units which were added into the course.
"The course teaches the students skills, not only just for a career in hairdressing but in any career."
Stawell Secondary College student Haylee said she hoped to move into a hairdressing apprenticeship in the near future.
"When I first started the course I really enjoyed it and knew it was what I wanted to do as a career," she said.
"I really enjoy braiding and colouring hair. I can't wait to get into the industry and get an apprenticeship."
Marian College student Etira said she had enjoyed the two-year course with a "good bunch of people".
"I really enjoyed broadening my people skills - it's something you have to use in every job you have," she said.
"Some things we had to do was totally out of our comfort zones but it gives you a good sense of achievement once you have done it.
"It's a nice feeling to know people can walk out of somewhere feeling much better about themselves."
Ms Seehusen said she hoped to grow the course into the future but was concerned about the next pathways for the students.
"No one is really putting apprentices on at the moment which is a worry," she said.
"We would really like to hear from salons around the region who would be interested in putting on an apprentice.
"We are also interested in hearing from people who would like to come to the school as volunteers for the students to learn.
"I can be contacted at the school on 53581700."
