A helicopter trip was organised for Mrs Smith so she could over look her town from above.
Little did she know what awaited her when she landed.
A day, not ideal for flying, the trip was nearly cancelled which would of ruined the surprise as family and friends waited at Stawell's North Park for her surprise party.
Mrs Smith said she thought they were landing the helicopter from where she took off.
"Next minute I know we were landing at North Park," she said.
"Everyone was there. My relatives and people I hadn't seen in years.
"I thought my birthday party on Thursday was enough. It was beautiful to have another party with everyone there."
Mrs Smith has spent the past week in her room at Eventide Homes recovering for her big celebrations last week but smiled when she remembered the day.
"They said to me it could be a little bumpy rocky up but it was great," she said.
"I'd never been in a helicopter before. We had a little shower of rain while I was on there and it was like little drops of snow.
