A Stawell teenager is in a serious but stable condition following a crash at Navarre on Saturday night.
The 18-year-old was airlifted to the Alfred Hospital in Melbourne after the incident which also resulted in two other men sustaining non-life threatening injuries.
St Arnaud Sergeant Bill Alford has expressed his concern around the high number of crashes on rural roads, particular in western Victoria.
Sergeant Alford said people need to take more caution on the roads and recognise the dangers of driving recklessly.
The Sergeant's comments come after three men were injured after their car crashed into a tree on Saturday evening.
"One concern is about people leaving football matches and losing control of their vehicles, it is incredibly concerning," he said.
"The road toll for this year is astronomical and it is not getting any better.
"We will be addressing such venues as football clubs with a view to proactively police them.
"We will talk to clubs in our patch about being responsible with club members to avoid instances like this happening again."
