Forming part of the Australian Match Rifle Team, Horwood will compete against Great Britain for the Woomera Trophy.
The Woomera Trophy is the premier international sporting event for long range match rifle shooting and this will be the eighth international competition for this trophy Australia has competed in.
Horwood from Great Western has been Match Rifle shooting since 1996.
He was a member of the inaugural Australian Woomera Team and has been the driving force behind the development of long-range shooting facilities at Stawell.
A winner of the Western Australian Queens in TR in 1995, Horwood has represented Victoria in the Match Rifle State Teams competitions fourteen times and this will be his sixth international appearance for Australia.
Horwood will be joined by other Victorian shooters including Donald's Wayne Skinner Maryborough's Shane Courtney, Cowley's Creek's Alan Blain, Lilydale's Peter Maher and Rosedale's Barry Southern.
