More than 3000 people have clicked "attending" on the Facebook event "Leave a poo at Gladys Berejiklian's doorstep" while another 11,000 said they were "interested".
NSW Police confirmed they had officers "in the vicinity" monitoring the situation at the premier's Willoughby office.
A post to the event's Facebook page claimed there were close to 10 officers at the office.
A coroner is investigating five suspected drug overdose deaths at NSW music festivals from mid-September to mid-January.
Festival goers and medical experts have called for pill testing to be introduced in NSW to reduce the risk of harm but the premier remains steadfastly opposed to the idea.
Ms Berejiklian's office has been contacted for comment.
