About 500 people attended the event’s second year across Saturday and Sunday.
“Numbers were up and we had a lot of families with small kids which was surprising but great to see,” Grampian Model Railroaders treasurer Clyde Humphries said.
“It was only our second show in Ararat so we are pretty happy to have seen a 30 per cent increase in attendance.”
Mr Humphries said the show was a chance to show people the intricacies of model trains.
“It is more than just watching a clockwork train now, the hobby has evolved in a way to an artform,” he said.
