The double header consisted of a win against the Warnnambool Seahawks and a loss at home to the Mt Gambier Lakers.
The Redbacks currently sit in ninth position with three wins and nine losses.
Overall, coach Marcus Jenkins said he is pleased with how the team has played in the first half of the season.
“It’s starting to click,” he said.
“We are starting to get all the players back on court and we are just starting to play good team basketball.
“I’m happy with how the season is going, we are starting to get to the back end of the season and we are starting to play good basketball which is hopefully what Ararat can build on for the next few years.
“I’m happy, a couple of extra wins would be ideal but with injuries and unavailability to players, that made it hard.”
Looking back at the first half of the season, Jenkins said that one of the best games the team played was the second time they played Horsham, even though the scoreboard suggested otherwise.
“Realistically our best game all year was the second game against Horsham,” he said.
“I know we didn’t win but we played really well, we kept one of the leading scorers of the competition down to four points and we were in the game for most of it except for four or five minutes.”
It is almost a shame that once the Redbacks return to the court they will only have three games left to play, and Jenkins said that they are aiming to shape the finals.
“Realistically our goal is to go two (wins) and one (loss) for the last three games of the year,” he said.
“I think it’s more to shake the last three weeks for everyone.
“It’s a pity the season wasn’t a bit longer because we are starting to hit our straps a little bit better, and we are starting to gel and we are starting play real good basketball.
“We will shape the outcome for the next couple of weeks anyway.”
