At 11.40am, a man called for assistance reporting himself as lost in the Grampians.
“He rang up saying he was near a location marker which proves they are doing their job,” Sergeant Peter Young said.
“By the time we got to his location he was already found by some passers-by who helped him find his way.”
The man sustained no injuries.
Shortly after being called out, emergency services were required for another rescue in the Grampians.
At about 1pm a 30-year-old woman from Melbourne sprained her ankle near the Pinnacle in the Grampians, requiring assistance.
“Police, SES and ambulance services all responded and she had to be carried out, eventually taken to Stawell Hospital,” Sergeant Young said.
The day was not over for police following that rescue, responding to a motorcycle accident on Mt Victory Road, about one kilometre from Reeds Lookout.
A 33-year-old man was involved in the single vehicle incident, having lost control of his bike and running into a tree.
“He collided for unknown reasons,” Sergeant Young said.
“He lost consciousness so as a safety precaution he was airlifted to the Royal Melbourne Hospital.
“He sustained head injuries and a dislocated shoulder but is ok now.”
