Works on the project finished nearly one month ago, with the project unveiled with a street party to mark the end of the project.
Thursday was the first time Mr Tehan had visited Stawell since the project had finished, and he said he was impressed with the job that was done.
“Supporting 15 jobs during construction, the major improvements to pedestrian safety and accessibility will encourage visitors to stop at Stawell on their way to the Grampians,” Mr Tehan said.
“With newly-laid asphalt, new pedestrian crossings and a wider street, it is a much safer and easier main thoroughfare for everyone to access.”
The $1,350,000 project was jointly funded by the federal and state governments. $800,000 came from the federal government with the additional $550,000 coming from the Victorian government.
