The latest candidates to stand in the election are Peter Fava from Shooters, Fishers and Farmers Victoria and Sandra Gibbs from Derryn Hinch’s Justice Party.
The two candidates are the latest out of a total three last minute nominations in the past several days.
A spokesperson from the Shooters, Fishers and Farmers Victoria said that Mr Fava is a keen hunter and fisher.
“He has hunted and fished since he was a little boy and still does plenty of both,” she said.
“Peter is passionate about maintaining access to public land, and is particularly concerned about the Victorian Environmental Assessment Council report being developed, which appears to be heading towards recommending the creation of new national parks in the Ripon electorate.
“(This) would lock many recreational land users out of these areas for generations to come.
“Peter is a keen cricketer and also advocates for grassroots sporting clubs in his community. Peter is standing as a candidate for the Shooters, Fishers and Farmers party as they are committed to representing outdoor recreations and maintaining public land access for all users.”
The office of Derryn Hinch’s Justice Party could not be contacted for comment.
