Stawell Agricultural Society secretary Anne Ellis said attendance was really good, as well as the number of entries received for different categories.
“We definitely had more Beaut Wheels entries,” she said.
“It was hard to see a space in there. They (the vehicles) were doubled up – it was great.
“The wood chopping attracted a lot of attention and the African percussion band was very good. Photography was up from last year (too).”
Ms Ellis said that there were also a lot of entries in the horse show.
The only aspect of the show that she said was down a bit was the deportment category.
Nonetheless, there were contenders and ribbons went to Olivia Jenkins for Miss Tiny Tot, and to Flynn Sleeman for Master Tiny Tot, and Miss Junior Showgirl was Molly Walker Sutton with Makala Basset as Miss Showgirl.
Ms Ellis said the lower numbers weren’t a reflection of the popularity of the category but rather “just one of those things.”
Other attractions included an animal nursery, mechanical bull ride, arts and crafts sections, market, and ferret racing.
Ms Ellis thanked the community for helping make the show happen and said now the society will be looking for new members.
“We’re going to be looking for a new secretary and treasurer, and ... more committee members,” she said.
