Nhill’s Shane Grover and Stawell’s Tim Coffey have both been named in the eight-men team which will travel to Mount Gambier Golf Club.
A practice round will be held on Friday, followed by Foursomes on Saturday morning, Four-Ball on Saturday afternoon and singles match-play on Sunday morning.
Grover said he was thrilled to have made the squad again.
“I’m very happy to make it and it’s my fourth time in the team and the third year in a row for me,” he said.
“I made the side this year for getting runner up in the Victoria Country Championships back in February at Rosebud.”
Grover said South Australia have been tough to beat the past couple of seasons.
“Victoria Country had a stranglehold in the contests for a long time and now South Australia have won the last two times we have played I think,” he said.
“It’s a definite step-up in quality and competition from what I’m used to.”
Grover said he was expecting the Mount Gambier golf course to be great to play on.
“I have played at Mount Gambier and it’s a really nice course and it should be in great condition,” he said.
Coffey said the golf would be of a high standard.
“I played in this a couple of years ago and it’s a pretty good standard,” he said.
“You’ve got people from all over country Victoria representing the team.
“My performances in the Wimmera have helped get me into the team.”
Coffey has never played at Mount Gambier before.
“I’ve never played there before but from all reports it’s a pretty good track,” he said.
“I know a few of the boys in the team and I’ve played with Shane before.
“There are a few young ones in there as well, so it should be fun to be around the team.”
Coffey represents his home region of West Gippsland in the squad.
