“It went really well. We had some people who already attend our services and some who haven’t been at all before.
“It was a good opportunity to showcase what we have to offer.”
Mr Duncan said they received “very positive feedback” from the day.
“A lot of the feedback was people saying they didn’t know these services existed so close to home, so it is great to educate more people about what we have,” he said.
“we just really wanted to highlight these services are here and rather than people travelling to Ballarat and other centres for rehab they can receive them in Stawell.”
Mr Duncan said a highlight of the day was ex-client Gordon Phillis delivered a “heart-felt story” about his experiences with Stawell Regional Health.
“We also did a tour to showcase six of our rehab services to the participants,” he said.
“There was also a Tai Chi demonstration.”
The centre has been open since 2013. Mr Duncan said he hopes the day provided people with a greater understanding of what is available.
“It was about increasing awareness of our services to the community as well as for our staff to celebrate the work they do,” he said.
