Sally Rook, 41, was released on Friday after Ararat Magistrate Mark Stratmann assessed her case.

Ms Rook was apprehended alongside Paul Barnes, 40, on August 6 at their Ararat address when police executed a search warrant.

Among the items found were prescription drugs, 12 grams of heroin worth $7200, 40 grams of methamphetamine worth $24,000 and a large sum of cash.

Firearms and ammunition were also found.

Police prosecutor Senior Constable Ash Murnane gave evidence against the application for bail.

“She would … endanger the welfare of the community by continuing to engage in trafficking in the Stawell and Ararat communities,” he said. 

Victoria Legal Aid acted in defence and said refusing bail could result in Ms Rook serving more time while waiting for the investigation to conclude than she would have served had she been sentenced on the day. 

Mr Stratmann granted bail under what he described as “stringent conditions” which included random drug tests.

Meanwhile, police are appealing to the public for information following several incidents in Ararat.

On September 1 between 10.30am and 10.40am unknown offenders entered a vehicle parked at a property near Queen and Flattely streets.

Offenders stole a purse worth about $100 and $250 in cash.

On September 15 between 2.30am and 2.50am unknown offenders smashed a window at a business at 103 Barkly Street, Ararat.

On the same day between 7pm and 6.20am the next morning unknown offenders entered a parked vehicle near Tobin and Crouch streets, stealing black sunglasses worth about $300.

Senior Constable Daniel Boromea said anyone with information could call Ararat Police on 5355 1500 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
