Friday night senior competition will begin on October 12, Wednesday night mixed competition will begin on October 10 and juniors will commence on Saturday, October 13.
Club president Andrew Dunn said “there is something for all abilities of tennis”.
“All ungraded senior players are required to be graded before the start of the season which will enable players to play against people of the same level,” he said.
Grading night for players ungraded is on October 8th at 6pm.
Dunn said he is looking forward to consolidating on the changes that took place last year.
“We will be running a spring and summer competition again for Friday nights. It worked well last year and we received a boost in numbers. Hopefully we can get all those numbers returning and more,” he said.
Junior tennis players will have the opportunity to play in the Saturday morning competition and the opportunity for younger tennis players to sign up for coaching through the Hot Shots Program.
“Last year we had more than 60 kids playing tennis on a Saturday morning. It’s great to see so many young and active people playing tennis,” Dunn said.
Dunn said tennis players of any level are able to sign up for mid week coaching through club coach Blair Hart.
“We are lucky to have access to a club coach. Individuals can work on their tennis game with the guidance through Blair,” he said.
Dunn said anyone interested in playing tennis in the upcoming seasons are able to contact the club at stawelltennis@yahoo.com.au, committee members Ben 0400 063 872 or Joel 0400 105 726, Facebook or via entry form at Sportspower.
“We have had a good response so far. If anyone is thinking about joining tennis or jumping in and having a go then they should get in contact,” he said
Entries close on October 5.
